THE MOSEL
Here, you can expect ancient world cultural heritage, impressive castles, exquisite cuisine, historic wine towns and cities, Moselle cycle paths, and of course, a beautiful hiking region for relaxed walks or climbing tours on the Calmontsteig, the steepest vineyard in Europe.
Moselle Ferries
A very special way of getting around on the Moselle is, of course, by ferry. At a relaxed pace, you can enjoy drinks while watching the Moselle riverbanks, villages, and forests pass by.
This can also be perfectly combined with a hike. For example, you can follow the Moselle Trail on foot to Zell (Mosel) and take the ferry for the return journey.
Cycling
Along the Moselle, there are cycle paths, former railway tracks converted into bike trails, and bicycle buses, making cycling in the Moselle region and the Eifel especially attractive.
That is why we have created a separate section specifically for cyclists.
Walking
Many beautiful places can even be reached on foot. The famous Eltz Castle is about a two-hour hike through vineyards and forests from the holiday home. In general, numerous hiking trails pass right by the Apple Tree holiday home.
That’s why we have also included a dedicated chapter with our favourite hiking trails.
Public transport
From the Apple Tree holiday home, you can walk directly to the train station and enjoy direct connections to Koblenz, Cochem, Trier, Saarbrücken, and Luxembourg, as well as many other villages along the Moselle.
In addition, bus lines connect the villages throughout the region. For timetable information, the DB Navigator app is recommended.

Discover the beautiful Moselle landscape on a guided Segway tour. Enjoy picturesque vineyards, breathtaking viewpoints and charming Moselle villages. Tours are available around Cochem, Klotten, Senheim and Zell. Individual tours and fun obstacle courses can also be arranged on request.
