THE MOSEL
Here, you can expect ancient world cultural heritage, impressive castles, exquisite cuisine, historic wine towns and cities, Moselle cycle paths, and of course, a beautiful hiking region for relaxed walks or climbing tours on the Calmontsteig, the steepest vineyard in Europe.
Moselle Ferries
A very special way of getting around on the Moselle is, of course, by ferry. At a relaxed pace, you can enjoy drinks while watching the Moselle riverbanks, villages, and forests pass by.
This can also be perfectly combined with a hike. For example, you can follow the Moselle Trail on foot to Zell (Mosel) and take the ferry for the return journey.
Cycling
Along the Moselle, there are cycle paths, former railway tracks converted into bike trails, and bicycle buses, making cycling in the Moselle region and the Eifel especially attractive.
That is why we have created a separate section specifically for cyclists.
Zufuß
Viele schöne Orte sind sogar zu Fuß erreichbar. Die berühmte Burg Eltz ist eine 2 stündige Wanderung durch die Weinberge und Wälder entfernt. Grundsätzlich führen viele Wanderwege am Ferienhaus Apple Tree vorbei.
Daher haben wir auch ein Kapitel extra für Wanderpfade.
Public transport
From the Apple Tree holiday home, you can walk directly to the train station and enjoy direct connections to Koblenz, Cochem, Trier, Saarbrücken, and Luxembourg, as well as many other villages along the Moselle.
In addition, bus lines connect the villages throughout the region. For timetable information, the DB Navigator app is recommended.
