Burg Eltz
Die Burg Eltz ist eine Höhenburg aus dem 12. Jahrhundert und eine der bekanntesten ihrer Art in Deutschland.
Sie gilt als "schönste Burg Europas", "Fairy tale in Stone" und "Inbegriff einer Ritterburg". Während der Öffnungszeiten können Sie auch den Innenhof und die Schatzkammer begutachten oder ein Getränk und Pommes genießen.
Sie können bei Burg Eltz auf dem Parkplatz parken. Es ist auch möglich weiter weg zu parken und zur Burg Eltz zu wandern.

Manderscheid Upper and Lower Castles
Manderscheid in the Volcanic Eifel impresses visitors with a “double pack” of castles — the Upper and Lower Castles stand opposite each other above the wild Lieser Gorge — and with a surprisingly alpine extra: the Manderscheid Castle via ferrata.
The secured climbing route (category B/C) leads over ladders, steel cables, and rock ledges directly through the gorge and offers spectacular close-up views of both ruins.
Combined with the panoramic circular trail between the castles and hikes to nearby maars (e.g. Meerfelder Maar), Manderscheid easily fills an active day trip full of nature and castle romance.
Metternich Castle
Metternich Castle rises above the Moselle village of Beilstein and dates back to the 12th century.
Although today it is an impressive ruin, parts of the walls, towers, and vaulted chambers are still well preserved and offer an authentic insight into the Middle Ages.
From the castle grounds, visitors can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over Beilstein and the Moselle bend.
A small restaurant within the historic walls also invites guests to relax and stay awhile.

Landshut Castle
Burg Landshut rises picturesquely above Bernkastel-Kues and offers breathtaking views over the Moselle River and the surrounding vineyards.
The castle ruin dates back to the 13th century and was built on the remains of a Roman fortress.
There is also an upscale German restaurant located within the castle grounds.

CASTLE PYRMONT
In the romantic Elzbach valley, near Roes, lies Pyrmont Castle (first mentioned in a document in 1225). In a video film (also available in English, French and Dutch) you will learn everything about the history and origin of the castle, then you explore the castle yourself from the cellar to the top of the tower.

Magnificent. Charming. Mysterious.
Only a few kilometers from Koblenz city center, one of the most beautiful buildings of Prussian Rhine romanticism awaits you.
You can easily reach the castle by bus from the train station. From the bus stop it is a good 10 minutes up the hill. The castle can be visited free of charge. The castle itself can be visited with a guided tour. The castle and the garden are well kept and very romantic. Beautiful view of the Rhine Valley included.
